Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Diode Laser Hair Reduction.

Most clients need 6–8 sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart depending on hair growth cycles and skin type; maintenance sessions may be required annually. Your practitioner will assess your hair type and create a customized schedule for optimal long-term reduction.

Most people describe mild discomfort like warm pulses or light snapping sensations; topical numbing can be applied for sensitive areas. Cooling systems reduce pain during treatment, and sensations subside quickly after sessions.

Modern diode lasers are adjustable and suitable for many skin tones, but effectiveness and safety depend on wavelength choice and practitioner experience. A consultation and test patch determine appropriate settings to minimize risk of pigmentation changes.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for two weeks, stop plucking or waxing for several weeks, and shave the treatment area 24 hours prior. Inform your technician about medications and skin conditions during your consultation.

Temporary redness, mild swelling, and slight tenderness are common and usually resolve within a few hours to a few days. Rarely, temporary pigment changes or blistering can occur; follow aftercare guidance and contact us if symptoms persist.

Diode lasers target pigment in hairs, so fine, grey, or very light hairs respond less effectively. Multiple sessions and alternative protocols may help, but our consultation will evaluate hair color and recommend the best treatment plan.
